How we work
A clear process, and a fast no.
Fundraising costs founders their most expensive asset: attention. We run a structured process with published timelines, and we tell you early when the answer is no.
Process
From first read to wire.
-
Sourcing
Our pipeline comes from founder referrals, accelerators and university programmes, industry events, and direct submissions through this website. We review hundreds of opportunities to find the twenty we want to back.
-
Screening — within ten business days
A first read against our criteria, then a call with the founding team. You will know quickly whether we are a real candidate for your round.
-
Diligence
A structured review of market position, product, financial performance and team, with legal and financial diligence coordinated alongside. Scoped so it does not consume the two people who should be selling.
-
Investment committee
Every opportunity is presented to our investment committee for approval. Terms are then negotiated and documented — without renegotiating the headline after diligence, absent something genuinely new.
-
Post-investment support
Board participation, ongoing mentorship, performance monitoring, and hands-on help with business development and strategic planning. This is the part of the job we care most about.
-
Exit
We help prepare each company for a well-timed exit — an acquisition, a public offering or a secondary transaction — generally within a six- to eight-year horizon, depending on the company and the market. Because we invest our own capital, no fund’s end of life can force a sale at the wrong moment.
After the round closes
What we actually do with a board seat.
Commercial structure
Designing a sales organisation, hiring the first reps, setting quota and territory, and building the management cadence that keeps it honest.
U.S. market entry
The work we are known for: entity and hiring, pricing for an American buyer, positioning, and the introductions that turn a market into a pipeline. For a founder arriving from Europe this is the first year, and we do it with you.
Senior hiring
The most common constraint we see is a missing leader, not missing capital. We help scope the role, run the search and close the candidate.
Reporting and metrics
Monthly reporting and unit economics a founder can act on — and that a Series A investor will recognise as serious a year from now.
Next round preparation
We start work on the Series A story eighteen months before it is needed, and we say plainly when the metrics are not yet there.
Founder support
Roundtables with other founders in the portfolio, and a partner who will take the call when the news is bad. Especially then.
A fast no is worth more to a founder than a slow maybe.
Our commitments to founders
We answer. Every submission through this site gets a response within ten business days, whether or not we are interested.
We explain. If we pass, we say why. You may disagree with the reasoning, but you will have it.
We keep it confidential. We do not circulate your materials, and we do not share what you tell us with companies that compete with you.
We decide for ourselves. We invest our own capital. There is no investment committee of outside backers to satisfy and no allocation deadline to meet, which is why we can move quickly and why a yes from us is final.
We do not sit on a competing board. If we are already invested in a direct competitor, we will tell you before the first call rather than after diligence.
